What came of my 30 days of Ship 30 for 30?

Never having heard of Ship 30 for 30 before, I jumped in and was surprised by the results.

Having been in the writing world for seven years now, I was unsure of what courses I could take to further my career.

So, what is Ship 30 for 30? This is a course that refers to your writing career as a ship ready to sail. A writing course that teaches you the tricks of digital writing in a competitive market.

What was I going to do in this course?

I was going to write atomic essays or threads for 30 days and post them on Twitter. We were instructed to choose three buckets of content we would choose to write about and throw out this information in order to see what happened. What resonated with readers.

And honestly, even though I knew what I wanted to write about, it scared me to step out of my comfort zone.

What did we do?

Once we started putting these new skills into practice, it was easier than I thought.

As I said, I’ve been in the writing world for seven years now. But, with that being said, writing books is way different than writing for Medium or writing threads on Twitter. You are trying to keep someone's attention in the 1–3 seconds they are skimming your content.

No pressure…right?

In Ship 30 for 30, we learned these crucial skills that I hadn’t realized I had questions about until it was right in front of me.
