How Does the Cloud Work?

To understand how the Cloud functions, we must look at Big Data first because Big Data and the Cloud work in conjunction with each other.

There are three parts that work together to make the Cloud function: the front, middle and back end. The front part is where users are in front of a screen and are using computer applications and/or programs and the back end is where the cloud’s servers are located. The middle is what bridges the cloud servers and the user’s computer programs and applications. Individual users typically use the public cloud that is accessible to anyone with an internet connection.

Corporations have the tendency to use the private cloud, where they pay for both the hardware and software, as it is more secure and convenient. Businesses and enterprises also use SaaS (Software as a Service) and IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service). Businesses that have SaaS have their own hardware while they pay cloud providers for the software. Businesses that have IaaS have their own software which they use to outsource to cloud providers.
