Solo Dating is For Everyone

Driving to Trader Joe’s, I blasted Madonna while singing with my windows down. I used to think grocery shopping alone was a treat.

My coaching methods are a bit atypical. I encourage my clients to go on solo dates to understand what they want and then to act on it.
Here are some suggestions.
· Watch that movie you’ve seen 5 different trailers for.

· Sit and sip at a new café with inviting corner cushions.

· Go to the library and read five children’s books.

· Sit in a busy square and collect bits of conversations.

· Go to the dog park with treats — with or without a dog.

Everyone benefits from solo dating because you are the most important person in your life. You get to plan out and play out your time.

· Explore something that is of interest just to you.

· No waiting until someone is available.

· Decide what time you are ready to go home.

· Immediately after, reflect and create from it.

· Build confidence to navigate little adventures alone.

· Engage in the best conversations with yourself.

Your relationship with yourself is the root from which all other connections form. So why not cultivate that dynamic regardless of your relationship status? It might raise your standards for your next date with someone. And that is a sweet thing.
